This indicator assesses the level of satisfaction that Neighbors have with the overall flow of traffic in the City. The flow of traffic impacts the quality of life for Neighbors, businesses and visitors, and is crucial for the timely arrival of emergency services such as Fire Rescue and Police. To further understand dissatisfaction, the City administered a special survey in 2017 and 2018 to gather additional information in three areas that had consistently received low levels of satisfaction in the Neighbor Survey: traffic flow, homelessness, and public education.

All of the Neighbor Surveys can be accessed via the City’s website: https://www.fortlauderdale.gov...

The question regarding neighbors’ satisfaction with the overall flow of traffic is asked in each of the City’s Neighbor Survey that have been conducted by a third-party contractor, ETC Institute, from 2012-2021, administered annually between the months of October and December. ETC Institute ensures that the results are statistically significant, and representative of the population of the City, both demographically and geographically (by district). The City moved to a new vendor, Zencity, for survey administration in 2023. The survey remains statistically valid and representative of the City.

In 2020, the City changed how the neighbor surveys are administered. The annual Neighbor Survey was replaced with a Business Survey, and going forward they will be conducted every other year to solicit feedback from residents as well as the business community.

The 2024 target was established to align with the 2018 Florida benchmark (47%) provided by the ETC Institute.

Data is collected from the City’s Community Survey, conducted annually by the ETC Institute.  All of the Community Surveys can be accessed at the City’s website:  https://www.fortlauderdale.gov...
