There is a difference between employee engagement and employee satisfaction. Employee engagement is the extent to which employees are passionate about their jobs, are committed to the organization, and look to continually improve in their work. Employee engagement goes beyond participating in activities and events and completing tasks; engaged employees look at the whole of their workplace and understand their purpose and how they fit into the organization.  They are also typically able to make more informed decisions and perform at a higher level than non-engaged employees, which results in higher quality products and services for our neighbors.

Employee satisfaction only measures at what level employees enjoy their job.  While engaged employees are satisfied with their jobs, satisfied employees are not necessarily engaged with theirs.
