Installed linear feet of bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and shared use paths

The linear feet of installed pedestrian friendly facilities (bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and shared use paths) throughout the City is tracked at the completion of projects.

The target was established by increasing the installed linear feet by 50,000 feet per year over five years. 

Transportation projects have a long cycle from concept to completion. Design generally takes two years and construction can take anywhere from a few weeks for small crosswalk projects to 2 years for large projects. There are currently nearly 40 projects in the pipeline but not yet complete. In FY 22, the City installed 72,067 linear feet of pedestrian friendly facilities, exceeding the target of 50,000 Linear feet by 44%. 

Data is contained within a log of projects maintained by the Transportation & Mobility and Public Works Departments for new roadway improvement projects completed by the City, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and Broward County.
